Stronger teams win games (or at the very least have competitive scores). The best way for our team to get STRONGER is to participate — as a team — in weight room workouts 2 times per week… Mondays and Wednesdays 2:30-3:15pm.

STRONGER INDIVIDUAL PLAYERS MAKE OUR TEAM MORE COMPETITIVE & MORE SUCCESSFUL

Strength training helps individuals become more athletic. The emphasis of Elevate workouts is on functional strength training that builds the muscles you need to move more athletically on the field (e.g., faster sprints… tighter breakdown steps… stronger pivots/changes of direction… more explosive first steps — the kind you need to win 50/50 balls!). All this creates more confident and dynamic EHS FH players.

STRONGER INDIVIDUAL PLAYERS EXPERIENCE FEWER INJURIES

A reduction in player injuries is a primary benefit of functional strength training. In the first year that we had a majority of EHS FH players participate in off-season strength training, we reduced player “overuse” injuries that commonly impact FH player knees, back, hips and shins by 85% from the previous season. Fewer overuse injuries means less time in the trainer’s room, less need for icing and taping, less overall risk of additional injuries occurring during practices and games.

OFF-SEASON WEIGHT ROOM WORKOUTS KEEP YOU CONNECTED AS A TEAM

Team bonding is important year-round. However, staying connected as a team can be challenging once our Fall season ends. Weight room workouts are a relaxed and fun way to work towards improving yourself AND the team, while providing a great off-season bonding opportunity 2 times per week.

OFF-SEASON WEIGHT ROOM SESSIONS ARE FREE & YOU ARE DONE IN LESS THAN AN HOUR

Elevate Strength & Conditioning open weight room workouts for girls are on Mondays and Wednesdays from 2:30-3:15pm. The sessions are FREE. They will take up less than an hour of your time twice per week. It seems like a small and realistic off-season investment for our EHS FH players (that could provide HUGE benefits)

NOW THAT YOU KNOW MORE…

PLEASE CONSIDER ATTENDING BOTH ELEVATE WORKOUTS THIS WEEK

  • Monday and Wednesday 2:30-3:15pm

  • Arrive at the weight room by 2:25pm dressed in appropriate workout clothes and wearing sneakers (also bring a water bottle)

  • If you can, wear an EHS FH shirt to the workouts

  • Keep an open mind… see if you can make these workouts work for you and the team

IMPORTANT NOTE: For the open weight room workouts, you will be coached by Elevate Strength & Conditioning staff (most likely Coach Nick). Coach Cooper and Coach Fischer will not be at these open weight room workouts because neither can leave their regular jobs at that time. Elevate Strength & Conditioning is approved by the E.I. School Board and hired by the E.I. Athletic Department to provide these workouts. If — after December — the FH team wants to schedule a FH-only workout time that is later, we can inquire about this. FYI… the EHS FH weight room workout time last year (January - May) was 4:45-5:30pm twice per week.
